I've Arrived!

In Milwaukee, anyway.  As much as I enjoyed being in Madison, it was time to move on so I can get the Energy Service Corps ball rolling.

In between, I went home to help with the preparations for my maternal grandmother's funeral.  Since things were a little up in the air anyway, I took advantage and spent a whole week at home.  I spent several days making a photo slideshow to play during the visitation, so after seeing all the people in my family who have passed on over the years come back to life in pictures, it was strange to go back to my grandparents' house after the service and see it not looking exactly like it has for the past 30-50 years.  That house is practically like another member of the family, so for everything to just be moved around or already slightly dismantled or totally up for grabs was very strange.  And I've had the Oak Ridge Boys stuck in my head for several days.
If Vampire Weekend was releasing music in the 60s, this would be the cover of Contra

For now, I'm staying with Liz, the organizer already going between University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC), at her cousin's house in Milwaukee.  I'll also be at MATC, so it's definitely convenient that Liz already knows people and can introduce me to the people who will most likely be interested in helping with Energy Service Corps.  Apparently, people at MATC love going on trips for clubs, so our Education Week project, which will be traveling to 5 cities around Wisconsin over Winter Break, should be an easy sell.
